Term approval tasks are assigned as an extra step in the translation workflow and precede a HumanAI task. The objective is to check a list of terms which was automatically extracted from the customer's uploaded source file and translated by a customised AI setup. Your job is to review, research and amend the terms if necessary. The goal is to ensure that the reviewed terms, which are added to the customer's glossary, are correct and fit the context so they can be safely applied during the current and upcoming translation projects.
How is a term approval task assigned and accessed
Term approval tasks are assigned and accessed in the same way as all other tasks on the EasyTranslate platform. Once a new project becomes available you receive an email notification and the task will be listed on your dashboard. You can access the assignment by clicking on the task card. This will open a detailed view providing information such as deadline and price. It's also here where you have to either accept or decline your task

Once you've accepted the task, you have the option to enter the editor to start working on your assignment

How to successfully complete a term approval task
In the editor, you will be given the extracted source term and its target equivalent. From here, it is your responsibility to check all the extracted terms and their translations and assess if they need editing. The system also allows you to delete terms that are not relevant. The footer section provides information about the amount of confirmed and edited terms, and lets you switch between the different pages.

To edit an extracted and translated term listed in the SOURCE TEXT column, you simply write in the TARGET TEXT segment and approve it by clicking the toggle on the right, which will then turn green. This action will also change the entry type from SYNTHETIC to HUMAN.

When clicking the little arrow left of the source term, a context view will expand, showing you the segment from the source file where the term was extracted from. This should help you to determine the context-accurate translation.

If you wish to delete terms that are not relevant, simply click on the trash bin icon on the far right. The system will ask you to confirm the deletion of the entry.
You can bulk update several entries by selecting them with the tick boxes on the left side of the list. With the bulk update function you are able to change the status for more than one entry at a time (unconfirmed/confirmed & synthetic/human). You also have the option to bulk delete some or all terms.
Make sure to approve all terms or you won't be able to finalise the task.
What are the payment conditions
When assigned to a term approval task you are expected to analyse and research the listed terms as needed. Term approval tasks are thus remunerated based on your translation rate times 4. This means that if your usual translation word rate is 0.05€, your term approval word rate will be 0.2€.
