      Language Assets

      The Language Assets is where linguistic assets such as translation memory (TM) and glossary is gathered for display and editing.

      To reach the Language Assets, log in to EasyTranslate and navigate to the menu point:

      Translation Memory

      A translation memory is used to store already approved segments and for pre-populating newly uploaded translation projects with already existing segments. If a 100% match is regognised, it will automatically be used.


      On the left side, it's possible to navigate between the translation memory page and the glossary page:


      The first page shows all available translation memories. In the top row, it is possible to filter for specific translation memories, also by language. Below, all translation memories are listed.
      Under "Languages", you will always see the source language first, followed by all target languages available. In the example above, you can see 2 translation memories: 1) German source - Danish target, and 2) English source - Arabic and German target.
      By clicking the three dots to the right, you are offered the option to edit your translation memories. This includes options to edit the name, to open and edit single segments, to create an export of the translation memory as well as deleting it completely.

      Additionally, you have the option to select more than one translation memory at a time for download or deletion:

      Opening a translation memory will offer the options to edit or delete single segments. Filter for the language pair you would like to have displayed. Once edits are done, remember to save them by hitting the cloud button. Once it turns green, edits have been saved. Here, you can also choose to deactivate your translation memory, if necessary:

      By clicking the "Add new" button in the upper right corner, you can create a completely new translation memory. This could be useful in case you would like to use separate translation memories for different purposes.
      It is also possible to import a csv file with already existing translation memory data by clicking the "Import new" button. A guide on how to structure the csv file is available on the platform.

      Glossary

      A glossary is a list defining how you prefer single terms translated into specific language. If you have mandatory translations for some of your terms, it is recommended to have an active glossary with these terms.


      By navigating to "Glossary" to the left, you will be presented of a list of all your currently available glossaries:

      Generally speaking, the same options for opening, editing, downloading and deleting applies to the glossaries.

      By clicking "Import new", you have the option to upload a list of terms to your glossaries. Please make sure to read the instructions for upload before you try.

       

      There is no limit to creating new assets.
